Know Before You Go

Due to enhanced security measures, please be aware of the following airport screening procedures:
  • It is recommended that you check in at least 2 hours prior to flight departure. Be sure to allow plenty of time for airline check-in.
  • All ticketed passengers require a valid boarding pass and passport prior to entering security checkpoints. E-tickets are not sufficient documentation.
  • Depending on your airline and airport, you may check in for your flight in one of the following ways: online within 24 hours of your flight departure (check your luggage at the ticket counter and find your gate assignment on the video monitors at the airport), curbside, at an airport kiosk, or at the ticket counter. When checking in, make sure you check your luggage all the way through to Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) Note: some carriers may reassign your seat if you have not checked in for the flight at least one hour prior to departure.
  • Travelers may carry through security checkpoints travel-size toiletries (3.4 ounces or less) that fit comfortably in ONE, quart-size, clear plastic, zip-top bag.
  • In addition, larger amounts of prescription liquid medications and diabetic glucose treatments must be declared at the checkpoint for additional screening.
  • At the checkpoint, travelers will be asked to remove the zip-top bag of liquids and place it in a bin. X-raying separately allows TSA officers to more closely examine the declared items.
  • After clearing security, travelers can purchase beverages and other items in the secure boarding area and carry these onto the aircraft.
  • Keep carry-on items to a bare minimum.
  • All shoes and jackets must be removed and placed in a bin for x-ray screening.
  • All luggage must be clearly labeled.
  • Prior to traveling, it is important you contact your airline to obtain updated security information. For the latest listing of all prohibited carry-on items, visit the Transportation Security Administration at www.tsa.gov.
